Liberals love to find root causes, except in the case of illegal immigration

9/11-- according to our liberal friends, we had to discover the "root causes" of what drives Muslims to terrorism. Usually the liberals found out that it was "social injustice", usually at the hands of the United States and the west.

Why is their no universal health care in the US? We had to look at the root causes, and-- bam-- once again it was "social injustice".

Yet when it comes to illegal immigration, liberals would rather stage gigantic rallies for "reform", giving illegals American flags to wave and Spanish versions of the national anthem, than discover the "root cause" of illegal immigration. THey do this so they can push to allow all illegals into this country. And they do that for one major reason: hispanics are a minority and overwhelmingly support these liberal fanatics politically.

But here there is a major root cause, and it is a sinister one. What we have occuring south of the border is a crime against humanity. We have the Mexican government outsourcing their problems (poor Mexicans) to the US. The Mexican government encourages their poorest to risk their lives to come here and send money back to their families, and they do it because they have failed to take care of their own people. Encouraging illegals to come here takes the pressure off the Mexican government to do anything about their own wickedness. They are the root cause not only of our nation's immigration problems but, much more importantly, of their own people's tremendous suffering.

But don't expect the libs to discover this truth. Expect them to push for giving illegals rights that others played by the rules to get. Expect them to cater to the unions these immigrants belong to. Do not expect them to improve their lives by finding the root cause, for suffering is what liberals exploit-- it is how they gain and keep power.

In my view, the US needs to do three things. One, our government needs to find something to do with the illegals here-- give those that are good citizens amnesty, give the others that do not want to be part of this country the boot. Two, they need to actually enforce US immigration law. Three, and most importantly, they need to push for reform in the Mexican government. Agitate, slap on sanctions, put tariffs on Mexican goods. Whatever it takes. Mexico is dying because of illegal immigration, not just the US.

It's very very likely that you're jere because someone at some time entered this country illegally. Way way less than half the immigrants who have come to the U.S. over the yars have entered legally. You prove that every one of your ancestors did the Ellis Island thing or were Native Americans and what you say will have at least SOME credibility.

If you can't will you have the decentcy to leave since even though YOU were born here, it will only be because you come from a line of criminals?

Moron.

surrogate, your argument makes no sense. Some of my ancestors came here on the Mayflower to establish a theocracy, but since I'm against colonialism and theocracies does that mean I should leave?

I don't entirely agree with your analysis reducto, (Hispanic voters are almost evenly split between the two parties) but I agree with your solutions. Let the good citizens stay, kick the freeloaders out and apply international pressure on Mexico. They're not part of NATO, but I'm sure there some sort of legal action we can take.

No, not only should you not leave, but you should welcome anyone who wants to come here to be a part of this country, however they get here. We don't get to start out as a nation of immigrants and then say... nope, now it's our ball, you can't play. We won the genetic lottery, Too bad for you.

My argument is simply that LOTS of people came here illegally.

And now many of the grandsons and grandaughters of those same "Illegals" of the past are screaming their brains out about people who are doing today just what their ancestors did: they got to America any way they could.

It's not that complicated. We ARE americans. We don't OWN America. If you can't see the difference... your problem.

So, surrogate my little friend, are you saying we shouldn't have any immigration laws whatsoever? If your ancestors came here legally (using your logic) then you should leave. It's more a post 9/11 issue with me of National Security (I know, a dirty word that conjures up images of police states with you liberals) than anything else.

What TOUGH-LOVE means to illegal immigrants is to respect other people from other parts of the world that these would be legal immigrants whom have waited since 1988, Filipinos dependants petitioned by US-citizens families...wouldn't it be unfair to others? Thus, Mexicans demanded entitlement, and how about forcing their own leader to CHANGE: Pres. Vincente Fox must seek help from the USA to be able open up more jobs-sponsored by huge America companies, instead of buying stuffs made in China/Taiwan...why can't Mexico have the same economic-agendas coordinates the creations of new formed labor law and etc...STOP using America as the way to ignore own Mexicans dysfunctions in terms of minding their own poverty/ignoring human rights... Solving criminal activities on the borders, militarized by Pres. Fox-- why can't US-Military can't stop illegal crossing?

I don't live in a "post 9-11" world. You go ahead. You think you can "wipe out" terroism? It'll NEVER happen. We could start doing things that would reduce it, but that would mean folks like you don't get to think we're othe only people that count on the planet, and since you need that, you'll keep supporting acts that make people hate us MORE and spawn new generations of people who will very much want to act out those feelings. I will flat out guarantee my friend that if you lived grew up in Iran or Iraq you be one of the most militant Muslims out there, because people like you need to feel indignantly "right"...which always turns into hate and resentment and? -- the need to retaliate to any offense, whether perceived or real. It's the "Oh yeah? Well take THIS then mofo..." mentality.

Surrogate, my special friend,

The fact that you don't live in a "Post 9/11 World" is painfully evident. I don't want dirty bombs coming over the border (Canadian or Mexican)and the fact that you can't see the logic in that being my central reason for shutting down the borders is frightening to me. Even more frightening is that your head in the sand pacifism is embraced by the democratic party.I'm not sure I ever said terrorism would be completely wiped out, but I want it treated as an act of war not a law enforcement issue, as your friends on the Sensitive Left want to.
